The new “My Location” feature on Google Maps for mobile helps you know where you are on the map, even if your phone doesn’t support GPS.
…My Location (beta) service takes information broadcasted from mobile towers near you to approximate your current location on the map. Also, Google Maps for mobile with My Location loads much more quickly than GPS data, providing users with GPS-enabled devices faster access to their current location.
