Memph Bleek for Garnier Fructis

Tons of hip-hop artists lend their talents to various ad campaigns these days. It’s nothing new. Sometimes the pairings are good, sometimes they’re bad, and other times they’re just downright strange. Take this viral video promoting Garnier Fructis shampoo, for example . Everything starts out pretty normal. There’s a girl group (one presumably pieced together just for this video) doing their little ditty on the benefits of Garnier shampoo. Everyone’s dancing, smiling, plenty of Garnier product placement throughout, and then, out of nowhere, Memphis Bleek shows up to drop a few bars on the on the glow replenishing, silky smooth powers of Garnier! *Immediate straight face, proceeded by tons of Huh’s and WTF’s!* 1-900-Hustler, R.O.C. Bleek promoting shampoo? Were the execs looking to reach that hip-hop loving, Garnier using demographic with this spot, or what? I’m stumped. But whatevs. Watch the video and get your wtf on.

  • ...i almost fell out of my chair laughing when i saw this at work one day. and to think he was on 9th Wonder's Dream Merchant?(It ain't where you from,It's where you @)...yeah that's a great verse right there. until we caught you with shampoo in your eyes and you were actually in Beverly Hills getting your Weezy Jefferson on with Paris Hilton.

This isn't a good look for Bleek. At all.

If DJ Premier or someone that hip-hop heads respect did the beat, then maybe I wouldn't laugh so hard. But this shit sounds fruity as hell, just like the shampoo.

  • that is ridiculous. WTF is right. your career is Dead Memph..not only was that lame but he tried to make it gangsta and nothing about this long ass commercial is gangsta. I guess a quick check is faster then building a solid career.
